Amanah

Our children are our greatest asset. Our faith is our life.

Amana exists to bring the two together. Not a program with an Islamic label, but a place where a child grows in faith, character, confidence, learning, and friendship at once, under one roof.

Amanah

The word

Amanah

Amanah: something precious entrusted to your care. Not a possession. A trust, with a giver who will ask about it. A child is the clearest example there is.

The name is the standard. Every program, every hire, every rule about who may pick a child up is measured against one question: is this how you treat something entrusted to you?

Five outcomes

What we are trying to do

Every parent's objective, treated as one job, not five competing ones. This is the whole child.

Faith

Understands the surahs he recites, and would step forward to lead salah.

Character

Thinks of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) when he fights with a sibling.

Confidence

Proud to be Muslim, proud enough to say it out loud.

Academics

Passes tomorrow's test with a tutor who was there today.

Friendship

Real friends inside the values his parents are trying to instill.

Your child spends fifteen hours a week somewhere other than home or school. The question is not whether those hours shape them. It is who is doing the shaping.

Amana is built so those hours build the same child you are.

One roof

Where it lives

Amana House is an initiative of the Husseini Islamic Center of Orlando. The programs run in the center's own rooms: the gym, the halls, the tutoring room. The people who design and run them are, almost without exception, parents from this community who volunteer their time and are held to a professional standard.
